Ben Nadel - Blog - Upgrading A Built-In Function To A First-Class Citizen In Lucee 5.3.2.77
For as long as I can remember, ColdFusion has supported the idea of User Defined Functions (UDFs) as First-Class Citizens. Meaning, User Defined Functions can be referenced and passed-around just like any other object in the ColdFusion landscape. The same, however, has never been true of Built-In Functions (BFIs).

Ben Nadel - Blog - Installing User Defined Functions (UDF) As An Extension For Built-In Functions (BIF) In Lucee 5.3.2.77
With Adobe ColdFusion, I've always had a fascination with the idea of being able to extend the set of native (or built-in) Functions that are available in the request context. A decade ago, I played around with hacking User Defined Functions (UDFs) into the "hidden scope" of the PageContext; then, realized that I could just hack UDFs right into the url scope. I was trying to get Adobe ColdFusion to do something that it didn't want to do; all while having people telling me that Lucee (then known as Railo) supported this feature from day-one. Well, a decade later, I'm finally on Lucee CFML! So, I wanted to scratch that old itch and take a quick look at how I can extend the set of Built-in Functions (BIFs) using User Defined Functions (UDFs) and a .lex file in Lucee 5.3.2.77.

Ben Nadel - Blog - Performance Case Study: Caching Cryptographically Signed-URLs In Redis In Lucee 5.2.9.40
I decided to perform a follow-up experiment where I cache pre-signed URLs in Redis rather than having to re-generate them on every request. This ended up having a positive effect on performance, despite the additional HTTP request to Redis.

Evagoras Charalambous - Blog - Overriding the inferred QB Module SQL types
QB tries to automatically figure out what ColdFusion SQL type to use for its updates and inserts based on the actual value that is passed in for each column. Although that works for most of the cases, as I am using more of this awesome module I ran into an issue where my value type was being wrongly inferred, so I needed to figure out how to override it.

Ben Nadel - Blog - The Magic Of Thinking Small: Embracing Limitations As A Strength
I work on a very small team. It's me and three other full-stack developers. And while we are a cohesive unit, the four of us tend to work on completely separate initiatives. In some ways, the size of our team is very limiting. But, this limitation has also proven to be a tremendous benefit as it prevents us from thinking too big. As a natural rule, we are forced to think about and to solve only the problems that are right in front of us. https://www.bennadel.com/blog/3684-the-magic-of-thinking-small-embracing-limitations-as-a-strength.htm

Raymond Camden - Blog - My Thoughts on Documentation
I am incredibly opinionated about technical documentation. While my degree was in English, my focus in college was technical writing. I’ve written over six thousand blog posts and worked on around fifteen books. I am not trying to brag about my ability (which, trust me, can always use the skill of an editor), but rather to provide some context as to why, when I’m testing a cool new utility or API, I judge it based on the level of documentation and how much care (or how little) is put into it.

AliasPoorYorik - Blog Post - Prevent concurrent logins using cflogin
Today I discovered that you can prevent concurrent logins by using cflogin. This was added in ACF11 but completely passed me by and is a nice feature so thought it was worth a quick blog post in case others like myself weren’t aware of it. You may have noticed that the CFIDE doesn’t allow concurrent logins using the same account on two devices at the same time.
